We offer all services necessary
to design and furnish the interior of your structure.
Programming:
Like architectural programming, Interior Design programming entails
the gathering of information before the design process can engage.
If these services are being provided as a continuation of a Design
Guy architectural commission, then much of this programming will
have been completed. However, similar principles apply as to the
level of data required to adequately begin the interior design
phase. Design preferences for color, materials, fixtures, period
of style, etc. are determined during this phase if only in written
outline form.
Perhaps the most important information established prior to engaging
in interior design services is the outline of a project budget.
Additionally, this phase involves the development of a full inventory
listing of all furnishings, artwork, appliances, and any other
pre-existing items anticipated by the client to make the move
into the new project.
Schematic Design:
After the Design Guy team reviews the client’s concepts
in relation to the overall feeling or style for the residence,
preliminary input can begin to establish a cohesive design from
interior to exterior elements, as well as ideas for interior finishes
and fixtures. Furniture plans and product samples will also be
developed during this phase of work.
Design Development:
In this phase, the preliminary development and selection of
finishes for “fixed” items such as floors, walls,
ceilings, fireplaces, cabinetry, countertops, backsplashes, etc.
will be developed and presented to client for review and approval.
The product of this phase consists of plans and specifications
addressing the selection of all flooring material, casework (or
cabinetry), fireplace mantels and surrounds, all plumbing fixtures,
doors, door hardware, and decorative lighting.
The Design Guy team provides material samples and product cut
sheets of fixtures, materials, and finishes to be approved by
the client before ordering can begin. Further, a comprehensive
“Project Binder” consisting of specifications for
the approved architectural fixtures, materials, and finishes will
be provided for the owner’s records and safekeeping.
Furniture Procurement:
The Design Guy team not only provides selection of furniture,
antiques, artwork and fixtures, we can also provide a coordinated
effort in procuring them, insuring them, and arranging deliveries.
